Modules 1-3 Bundle: CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure Technician School Hosted by Powerhouse Alliance will take place on Tuesday, February 2nd – Thursday, February 4th, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CST.

This in-person course will be held in the Training Room at Pioneer Music Company HQ (14915 West 106th Street,  Lenexa, Kansas 66215).

Modules 1-3 Overview

Module 1 of the CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure Technician School explores industry standards and advises learners on best practices to follow when performing common tasks on project jobsites. The module begins with an overview of the systems integration industry and common career paths and stakeholders they will typically interact with. Learners will then discuss the professionalism necessary when working with common project stakeholders and examine the documentation, tools, and materials which are required to complete integration projects. The module concludes with a detailed study of jobsite safety practices and industry standards that should be followed when performing the installation of infrastructure cabling.

Module 2 of the CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure Technician School is designed to cover a comprehensive scope of the requisite knowledge expected of technicians when working in various types of structural environments as well as an overview of the common electronic equipment included in integration projects. Learners will explore the key aspects of both masonry and wood frame construction while discussing the critical points of the international building code which must be followed to ensure cabling installation meets the necessary requirements for quality and safety. Additionally, this module of the program will cover the foundational principles involved with math and electricity including review of basic algebraic and geometric concepts as well as Ohm’s law and the Power formula. Lastly, learners will discuss the equipment and components commonly installed and configured when working with integrated systems such as audiovisual components, rack systems, security systems, control systems, and more.

Module 3 of the CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure Technician School is designed to support technicians in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully install and terminate common infrastructure cabling including twisted pair, coaxial, and fiber optic cables. During the first part of the session learners will analyze the common performance characteristics of the three primary types of communications cabling and discuss the recommended practices which should be followed when installing the premises wiring. Next, participants will learn about the methods for terminating communications cabling as well as the best practices, tips, and tricks that will increase both accuracy and efficiency of the various termination processes.

Meet the Instructor – Krissy Budish

Krissy works within inside sales at Pioneer Music Company in Lenexa, Kansas. She is the first person to successfully complete the CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure certification in the Powerhouse Alliance instructor program. Krissy has over 20 years of retail, training, sales and management experience in consumer electronics.
