Technology is ever-evolving, and the world of A/V and HDMI is no exception. With all of the new formats and features of HDMI 2.1, getting a system to perform at its best can be a challenge. Having the base knowledge of video distribution and signal flow is crucial.

This 2-day course is a boot camp for audio/video professionals to gain and practice the techniques needed for stable video distribution. With the experience you gain in this course, you will be able to confidently design, install, and troubleshoot a professional audio video distribution system.

This course was built for today’s integrator and is a CEDIA CUE & AVIXA RU accredited training. Join us for two days of hands-on, real-world experience where we cover the fundamentals of HDMI and setting up and controlling both single room and multi-room/multi-zone distribution systems. Learn how to troubleshoot your distribution system when things do not go as planned.

Tuesday, November 15th


9:00-9:30 AM: Introductions

During introductions, you will learn about AVPro Global’s history, sister brands, and vision for the future of A/V.

9:30-12:00 PM: Intro to Audio/Video Signals
During this part of the course, you will learn about Audio/Video signals, including a lesson on HDMI and how it works. You will also learn about HDMI cables and how to test them for compliance and performance.

Hands-On Activity: Cable Testing & HDMI Signal Reading

12:00 – 1:00 Lunch (Open System Testing)

1:00-5:00 PM: HDMI Deconstructed
During this part of the course, you will be introduced to EDID management, HDMI audio information, HDMI video information, and hands-on training with HDMI signal generators and analyzers.

Hands-On Activity: HDMI System Scavenger Hunt – Fill out the hunt by sending signals through the systems in class and marking your answers.

 

Wednesday, November 16th

9:00-12:00 AM: Building Single Zone & Multi-zoned Systems
During this part of the course, we will practice setting up a distributed A/V system with HDMI sources and TVs you will find on your installs, like Apple TV, Roku Ultra, and displays from Sony, Samsung, and LG. You will also see use cases for HDMI extenders, Matrix Switches, Distribution Amplifiers, and Scalers.

Hands-On Activity: Connecting a Multi-Zone System from setup to control

1:00-4:00 PM: Systematic Troubleshooting
You have to start somewhere when troubleshooting an A/V system. We will discuss and experiment with different approaches to troubleshooting a distributed A/V system during this part of the course.

Hands-On Activity: HDMI Issue Hunting; you will use the tools and knowledge you learned to find problems throughout a system the trainers set up for you.

4:00-5:00 PM: Course Testing
You did it! This is where we test your knowledge and earn those credits through AVIXA and CEDIA. You will have plenty of time to ask questions about everything you learned over the two days.
